EVENT Information

Let the blues... ROCKKKK!

Mark Seymour will headline the 3rd Annual Darwin Blues Festival at the Gardens Amphitheatre Saturday 30th June 2012.

Internationally regarded as one of Australia's best singer/songwriters, Mark Seymour is considered one of the true innovators and giants of the Australian music scene, having written classic Australian drinking songs such as When the River Runs Dry, football match fave Holy Grail, hard rockers and slow ballads like Throw Your Arms Around Me.

Mark has an incredible stage presence and is a true blue front man.  Since making his name as the lead singer of Hunters & Collectors, Mark has enjoyed a stellar career as a singer and acoustic guitarist. Mark’s new album The Undertow, a collection of songs with an emphasis on storytelling, is both raw and intense with Mark’s vocals adding darkness, poignancy and drama. Musically it’s an album of roots based blues with a touch of country and folk.

This is a return to a favourite venue for Mark who is remembered by long term locals for putting on one of the venue's most legendary performances way back in the early 90s. Supporting artists include award winning Australian blues bands Mason Rack and Ray Beadle Band.

Be sure to get your tickets early!

Gates open 4:00pm and the event concludes at approximately 10:30pm.
