| Who determines
ticket prices? |
Ticket prices
are set by the promoter or artist responsible for
the event. Occasionally the Box Office acts as promoter
for events held at the Centre and has input in the
setting of prices. Otherwise, the Box Office simply
acts as an agency selling tickets on behalf of the
promoter and has no involvement in the setting of
ticket prices, applicable concessions or special offers.

|
| What do
I do if I have lost my ticket? |
This depends
on whether or not the event you are attending is a
general admission or assigned seat event. Tickets
to assigned seat events can be reprinted on the night
of the performance upon presentation of ID and/or
proof of purchase. Unfortunately we are not able to
replace tickets to general admission events.

|
| What do
I do if my tickets go black? |
Call us and
we will arrange to have them reissued. Our ticket
stock is made of a thermal bond that is heat sensitive
and tickets should be kept in a cool, dark place.
When left in bright light or on a hot surface the
board will go completely black and the print will
be unreadable.

|
| Where can I park? |
On-street parking
is available on Mitchell Street and The Esplanade
and limited undercover parking is available for a
small fee in the Holiday Inn carpark (off Mitchell
Street). A public carpark is available on the corner
of Daly and Mitchell Streets.

|
| How do I get a refund
on a cancelled/postponed event? |
It is the promoter
that makes the decision to cancel or postpone an event
and whether or not a refund will be made available.
The Box Office holds all monies received from ticket
sales in order to process refunds in the event that
this happens. We will always try to contact you to
advise you of a cancellation or change of date or
time. If a refund has been authorised, just bring
your ticket in to the Box Office and we will refund
its full value.

|
| What is the difference
between general admission and assigned seat events? |
|
A general admission event is one that does not
offer specific seating for patrons, and instead
has general areas that ticketholders are admitted
to. General admission events may be seated, standing
or a combination of both, and some may give patrons
the option of taking their own chairs or blankets.
Tickets for general admission events may specify
a certain area that you can enter or may not stipulate
any entry restrictions at all.
An assigned seat event has specific seating instructions
and tickets to such events will clearly display
these directions (ie Row E, Seat 11). If there is
more than one entry point to the venue then this
is also usually marked on the ticket (ie Gate 6). |

|
| Why do you need my contact
information? |
|
When booking tickets in advance of the performance
date you will be asked to provide your full name,
postal address and contact telephone number as well
as an email address if you are booking online. This
information is entered into our computerised ticketing
systems database and remains completely confidential.
We request this information to assist us in contacting
you should the need arise. This may be because of
a change in seating arrangements, ticket price,
performance date, start time or venue. In the event
that the performance is cancelled, we are able to
advise you prior to your arrival at the Centre,
and if the ticket price has changed, we are able
to contact you to arrange your refund. Furthermore,
in the event that your tickets are misplaced or
stolen, we can identify you as the rightful ticket
holder and, in many cases, reissue your tickets.
The details you provide may also be used at a later
date to advise you of events of a similar nature
scheduled to appear either here or at another venue.
The information mailed to you may include special
advance booking offers or a discounted ticket price
applicable only to patrons who have attended a particular
event in the past.
Additionally, as a customer of the Darwin Entertainment
Centre Box Office, we may use the information you
provide to keep you informed of activities at the
Centre, or to give you the opportunity to participate
in customer surveys regarding ways in which you
feel we can provide a better service.

|
| Will I get a better
seat if I purchase my ticket over the counter? |
No. The only
benefit of booking over the counter is that you actually
get to choose your seats from what is still available.
Otherwise, the same allocation of seats is available
irrespective of whether you are booking over the counter,
telephone or online.

|
| Why do better tickets
become available after I have purchased my tickets? |
There are a
number of reasons that better seats may become available
after you have purchased your tickets. Firstly, it
is common for seats to be held by the promoter or
artist when an event is initially placed on sale and
these may no longer be required. Secondly, unpaid
reservations that have not been paid for are released
for sale prior to opening each business day and thirdly,
some seats may have been held off sale whilst the
set/stage was being constructed and sight lines determined.

|
| How do I collect tickets
that I have purchased online or over the telephone? |
Tickets purchased
online or over the telephone can usually be collected
at the venue from one hour prior to the start of the
event. It must be the cardholder that collects the
ticket and you will be asked to show the credit card
used to pay for the tickets and sign the credit card
receipt. You will also be required to show proof of
concession eligibility when collecting tickets. The
booking confirmation you receive when purchasing tickets
online will specify more information regarding ticket
collection points and times. Please be sure to check
this prior to the event date. |

|
| Why isnt my concession
card accepted? |
All government
issued concession cardholders and full time student
cardholders are eligible for tickets at the concession
price for events presented by the Darwin Entertainment
Centre. All other event prices are set by the promoter
who determines who is entitled to receive tickets
at the concession price. Please check whether or not
your concession is included when booking and remember
to show the concession card when collecting tickets
to avoid being charged the full price at the Box Office.

|
| Can I bring a camera
or video recorder? |
Not normally.
In most cases cameras and recording equipment are
prohibited from being taken into venues, however on
occasions they may be permitted. Please check when
booking if you are unsure. Cameras and recording equipment
may be removed from the venue if they are being used
without permission.

|
| Why arent tickets
to all performances available online? |
We try to make
available online tickets to all events being sold
by the Box Office, although there may be occasions
when a particular event is not on sale online. This
is usually because the Promoter has requested that
tickets be sold only via the Box Office (at the counter
or over the telephone) or because the performance
date is close and online sales have ceased. Please
call the Box Office on 08) 8980 3333 to book tickets
to events not on sale online.

|
| Why arent all
ticket types to some performances available online? |
|
There may be restrictions placed on the online
sale of certain buyer types to some performances
(ie the group buyer type) or certain
seat types (ie A or B reserve) for a number of reasons.
For example, a limit of 10 tickets per transaction
is placed on all online bookings and quite often
the group buyer type exceeds this limit. Patrons
wishing to take advantage of the group discount
are therefore required to book through the Box Office
to receive this discount. Additionally, the Box
Office can discuss the seating requirements of large
groups when a performance is heavily booked and
the group is unable to sit together.
Another example might be that additional information,
other than that already requested when making an
online booking, is required of patrons booking certain
buyer types, or that some sections of the theatre
are available only to certain ticket holders (ie
premium ticket buyers).

|
| What are the benefits
of booking online? |
Firstly, you
are able to book online when it is convenient for
you, almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Secondly,
the transaction is live enabling you to receive immediate
confirmation of your booking and, if applicable, seat
allocation. You can view seating plans, performance
information, event dates and price categories online.
And you dont need to collect your tickets from
the Box Office until the day of the event.

| Why does my credit card
statement show a debit to tickets.com and not Darwin
Entertainment Centre? |
Tickets.com,
the company that designs the computerised ticketing
system used by the Box Office, provides the Darwin
Entertainment Centre with the facilities necessary
to offer a secure online booking service that interacts
directly with the ticketing system. When you book
tickets online to any performance at the Darwin Entertainment
Centre you are transacting with tickets.com through
the Darwin Entertainment Centres website. If,
once you receive your statement, you feel that you
have been incorrectly charged for your tickets please
contact the Box Office on 8980 3333.
