From Mist to Trees - Saturday 19th April 2008
Five major French works from the Romantic period are juxtaposed with music from Japan. Two of Australia’s leading percussionists, Thomas O’Kelly and David Jones, will tackle works by Milhaud and Watanabe.

Water, Fire and Passion - Saturday 4th October 2008
Inspired by the music of Latin America, this program unfolds out of the brutal sensibilities of Sensemaya, to the elegance of Bach’s Concerto for Oboe d’amore and Piazzola’s evocative tangos of the Four Seasons, inspired by Vivaldi’s work of the same name. Villa-Lobo’s Ciranda das Seta Notas performed by Kim Walker, Dean and Professor of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, commences the second half, with Beethoven’s Symphony No.5, sometimes called the ‘Destiny Symphony’, concluding the concert.

Running time of the performance is approximately 2 hours including a 15 minute interval at approximately 8:50pm. Cameras and recording equipment will not be permitted in the auditorium.
